starflesh

the human body is treacherous and cruel
how we are bound to flesh and skin
when we were carved out from the stars.
let me bite you and haul it out from your neck—
every jagged edge of starlight and dust—
so it dances on my tongue
and sizzles on our lips.
yes, mortal sin burns tongues and twists teeth.
you bear the heaviest of it all,
but to me, it singes like sweet grapes,
their wetness trailing down my chin.
i'll spit out the seeds
and kiss the rest back to you.
